About this Product
This is the wooden bed section of my file on Cults3d for people that want the wooden bed instead of 3d printing the flat section in the middle. I've also added an option to purchase the wooden bed and the 3d printed frame.
I stained the wood with maple wood finish to darken it up. But you could use nay stain or paint and a clear coat if wanted.
To swap over the bed, unscrew the bed rails from the frame then from the bed. Move the rails over to the new wooden bed. The bed mounts will be about 2mm above the frame holes, just pull them down a bit to line up. If you don't want to do bend them down, you can add some washers between the wood and the bed rails, but I didn't want them sticking below the bed frame.
To swap over the bed lights just unscrew the lights from the original bed and move them over. The lights are a tight fit, so be careful, the wires could break off the board easily.
The wood bed is made of 1/4" (~6mm) Columbia Forest Maple Plywood. Since this is plywood, if you drive in rain or through water I would add a few layers of clear coat it on all sides to try to keep it dry. Plywood doesn't do well getting wet.
The frame is made of PETG filament.
